Grundfos Pumps India Pvt. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Grundfos holdings was established on March 13, 1998. Grundfos India is responsible for sales of Grundfos products in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Maldives. Currently, Grundfos India has manpower of over 200 and operates with about 90 Distributors and Dealers with 19 regional offices across India. Grundfos India provides pumps and pumping solutions for various applications – Heating and hot water service systems, cooling and air-conditioning systems, Industrial applications, Pressure boosting and liquid transfer, Groundwater supply, Domestic water supply, Sewage and wastewater, Dosing, Chlorination systems, Disinfection systems and pumps running on renewable energy.
 
In March 2005, Grundfos India moved into its own new facility with state-of-the-art corporate office, training, production, testing, and extensive warehousing facilities in Chennai. The new building now located at 118 Old Mahabalipuram Road, Thoraipakkam, Chennai, is the first “Gold LEED Certified” Industrial Green building in India. The SKF Group started trading operations in India, at Kolkata in 1923 and since then the Group's operations have been consolidated into SKF India Limited and an associate company called SKF Technologies (India) Pvt Ltd. Currently there are two fully operational state-of-the-art manufacturing plants in Pune and Bangalore. Two new manufacturing plants in Ahmadabad (Gujarat) for Industrial Bearings and another in North India (Haridwar) for ball bearings in automotive applications.
