Members
AEEE welcomes membership from energy efficiency enablers - technology, equipment and service providers - as well as end-users of energy. Membership Fees of Members are indexed to their annual gross revenue from energy efficiency equipment sales and services. Companies with turnover between Rs 1 crore to Rs 500 crore pay according to the Annual Membership slabs indcated in the 'Fees Structure'.
Large Corporate Members
All Companies with a turnover above Rs 500 crore pay an Annual Membership Fee of Rs 2.50 lakh, and additionally a Service Tax which is currently 10.3 %. AEEE Membership is particularly relevant to companies committed to Corporate Sustainability Reporting and Carbon Disclosure and Carbon Accounting objectives. AEEE works with apex associations to achieve sustainability goals of Members.

Associates
Associate Members enjoy all benefits of AEEE, but are not entitled to vote. The following categories of companies and organization can become Associate Members:
a) Start up EE equipment and services companies registered in India with annual revenue from EE equipment sales and services not exceeding Rs 1 crore
b) Organizations providing support services to energy efficiency technology, equipment and service companies and organizations
c) Membership under this category can also be sought by:
i) Non-Profit Organizations, NGOs and Societies, Research and Technology Development Institutions and Centres, Schools, Colleges and Universities
ii) Government Organizations and Autonomous Bodies, including State Designated Agencies of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, and Nodal Agencies of Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) and Monitoring and Conservation organizations under the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF).
Charter Members
Charter Membership is the top tier membership category in the Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE) Membership Programme open for a limited time period. Charter Membership offers an opportunity for companies to sculpt and shape the evolving Alliance by providing leadership and strategic inputs to fulfill its Vision and Mission. Conzerv Systems Pvt Ltd (now Schneider-Electric Conzerv India Pvt Ltd), Schneider-Electric India, Thermax Limited and Grundfos Pumps India Pvt Ltd. are the present Charter Members of AEEE. These companies welcome interested leaders in the Energy Efficiency business, and other organizations with an interest in energy efficiency and climate change mitigation, to join and support the AEEE Vision of an energy efficient India.
Charter Membership requires a one-time contribution of Rs 5 lakh to the Corpus Fund of AEEE, in addition to the Annual Membership Fee according to the company’s membership slab based on its turnover. Present Members can upgrade to Charter Membership status, by contributing Rs 5 lakh to the Corpus Fund. Donations to AEEE Corpus Fund is eligible for exemption of Income Tax under Section 80G (5) (vi) of Income Tax Act, 1961, under Govt Order NQ.DIT(E) I 2009-10/2094DEL-AE20898–21102009 Dated 21/10/2009, issued to AEEE.
