The Workshop is being jointly organised by SKM Enviros, UK, Emergent Ventures International (EVI), India, ESTA (Energy Services and Technology Association), UK and Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE), India, that have formed a consortium to undertake this project, supported by the British High Commission, India.

The aim of this workshop discussion is to take forward the dialogue between the stakeholders and the project proponents, established during the first Roundtable under the Project on 2nd Sep 2012, and the interactions held in previous few months. The workshop will bring together policy makers, regulators, utilities, manufacturers of smart meters in India as well as experts from outside, and highlight the learning from international experience in implementation of smart meters across the world particularly UK. The current policy, technological and Implementation status of smart meters in India will be presented. The Workshop will also particularly bring forth the experience of Carbon Trust in the UK, as an instrument of market transformation in the country.
