Day 1 at INSPIRE 2017

International Symposium to Promote Innovation & Research in Energy Efficiency was inaugurated today in august presence of Mr. Ashok Jain, I.A.S., Chief Secretary, Govt. of Rajasthan; Mr. John Roome, Senior Director – Climate Change, The World Bank; Mr. Abhay Bakre, Director General, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), India; Amb Satish C. Mehta, I.F.S., (Retd.), Sr. Advisor, EESL; Mr. Saurabh Kumar, Managing Director, Energy Efficiency Services Ltd. and Dr. Satish Kumar, Convener, INSPIRE, India. The event aims to showcase innovation and implementation of best practices in Energy Efficiency technologies and policy framing. The speakers focused on transparency, large volume innovation and new ideas. While MD, EESL pointed an interesting fact that Rajasthan has been the number one state to implement EESL’s energy efficient streetlights, Mr. John Roome mentioned that India is the shining light and encouraged the participants to think deep on a change-seeking statement: ‘If not us then who?’.
