Webinar on “Utility-affiliated ESCOs: Types of Business Models and Learning from International Experience”

Utility-affiliated ESCOs: Types of Business Models and Learning from International Experience
December 22nd, 2014
3:30pm – 4:30pm

Energy efficiency measures are a useful means through which a utility can manage the demand for power among its customers to meet its current or future needs and provide benefits to the customers and the utility, as well as to society. These measures may be implemented via establishing energy service companies (ESCOs) or by engaging or collaborating with existing ESCOs. Any utility energy efficiency program performed using the ESCO model should not adversely affect the utility revenues, should have significant potential for savings, should have high consumer participation and interest, and should have net positive benefits from a societal perspective. There are various business models via which utilities can collaborate with ESCOs – a subsidiary, a contractual relationship,  strategic alliance, joint venture, etc.

Join us in the webinar to learn about and discuss the motivation for utility-ESCO affiliation, different types of business models that are possible, regulatory perspectives on utility-ESCO collaboration, international utility-affiliated ESCO experience including the USA, and factors required for successful utility-ESCO affiliation.
